Ph.D. summa cum laude in Communication Sciences and Instructional Design at the University of Lugano with the title E²ML - Educational Environment Modeling Language. Supervisor prof. Marco Colombetti. Member of the doctoral school NewMinE - New Media in Education, supported by a grant by Fondazione Daccó.
The last part of Ph.D. was accomplished as visiting scholar at Distance Education & Technologies (De&T) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, under the supervision of Rick Kenny and with the advice of Tony Bates.

Master of science summa cum laude (9,83/10) in Communication Sciences and Communication Technologies at the University of Lugano. Topic of the graduation work were adaptive hypermedia systems; topic of the final exam were digital libraries. Supervisor prof. Marco Colombetti.
Alstom Power price for the best graduation in the academic year 1999/2000.
The last year before completing the master was spent as intern at the Technical University, Vienna (Austria) at the Database and Artificial Intelligence Institute.
